Add Music to Facebook Page, Profile: Facebook now announced it was offering several new ways for users to incorporate music into their on-site identities — and in doing so, it is starting to look very much like MySpace.
Following the Facebook Music launch of Watch Party this previous summertime, which is a highlight that newest people watch live or pre-recorded videos together, that latest update includes the launch of Music by Facebook Stories and also an expansion of Lip Sync Live, in interest to a forthcoming option to add songs on a individual profile — which is reminiscent of the good old Myspace era.
Starting now, users will be able to apply music under Stories. To use it, they just need to tap the “Music” sticker and select the song of their choice. Yourself chooses a specific section of a song if that’s all you need to play, or you can let this play until your Story ends. It works much the same as it does on Instagram Stories.
Another significant highlight is that Facebook will soon enable you to play songs on your profile, which is what sparks the aforementioned comparison to MySpace. The latest Music section on your profile lets you show what songs you’re listening to & you can also pin one of them on the top of your profile to show users what kind of mood you’re in. Users who start the Music section can listen to short clips of each of the songs, as well as visit the artist’s page.
This appears Facebook is doing the most out of its deals to license the music of the likes of UMG, Sony & Warner Bros. That’s also expanding at Lip Sync Live, its response to Musical.ly. Now users will be able to read the lyrics for the songs the user is syncing to. At the moment, it’s only available for a few songs, but Facebook claims it will add more over time.
How to Add Music to Facebook
Sometimes, words and pictures fail to define our personality. And when that happens, music comes to the rescue. There’s always a song that seems so relatable that you can include it in your bio if given a chance. Well, Facebook heard it. Now you can add your favorite music on your Facebook profile.
However, the music or the songs won’t auto play when someone visits your profile. They will have to play the song manually in the music section of your profile. While you can add multiple songs to your profile, you can also pin a song that will be visible at the start of your profile.
Let’s check the music feature on Facebook. By the end of the post, you will know how to add music to your Facebook profile and stories.
Where is Music Feature on Facebook Profile
Unless you check your Facebook profile screen regularly, you might not even notice the music section. When you open your profile screen, scroll down, and you will find it next to Photos and Life Events cards. You might have to slide the cards to view the Music card on your profile.

How Can Friends Listen to Songs on Your Profile
When a friend taps on the Music section in your profile, it will show them the songs that you have added. Tapping on the song will play a sample (1 minute 30 seconds long) of the song.
They can either add the song to their profile or view the artist’s Facebook page by tapping on the three-dot icon. You can listen to the full song on Spotify as Facebook recently added support for Spotify.
How to PIN a Song on Profile
As mentioned before, you can pin a song to your profile. The pinned song besides appearing in the playlist in the music section will also be visible right under your name and profile picture. If you are familiar with Twitter, it’s like a pinned tweet.
Tapping on the song will play a sample. The user can add it to their profile, view the artist’s page, or listen to the full song on Spotify.
Now, to pin a song, open your playlist by tapping on the Music section on your profile. Then, hit the three-dot icon next to the song that you want to pin and select ‘Pin to profile’ from the menu.
